Orbitando Encelado

Curioso experimento con el simulador en la órbita de Encelado, satélite de Saturno. Se trata de ver si las físicas de atracción gravitatoria corresponden con la realidad. Se ha alcanzado una velocidad inferior a la de escape del planeta que supuestamente permitiría mantenerse en órbita y se comprueba si funciona con cámara acelerada:

It's not possible to do a newtonian orbit (outside of supercruise) around most planets in Elite, because even the fastest ships have maximum newtonian cruise speeds around 300 m/s. This is much lower then most escape velocities (and therefore orbital velocities*). Examples: Earth = 11,190 m/s, The Moon = 2,380 m/s, Pluto = 1,229 m/s. However, the escape velocity of Enceladus (a moon of Saturn, and the smallest body in the Sol system in Elite: Dangerous) is only 239 m/s. That means you could do a single boost from the surface, turn off your thrusters, and you'd never land again.
